It’s that time of the year again. For this year’s festive season I decided to do something a little bit different. Yes of course it’s a Christmas mashup but this time there are only German vocals used. Hope you don’t mind, music should be a universal language. I mixed Berlin’s rapper Sido with a childrens classic from the 80s, “Weihnachtszeit” by Rolf Zuckowski. This tune is on “Santastic 9″, a fine Xmas themed mashup/remix compilation with international artists like DJ Morgoth, dj BC, Divide & Kreate, G3RSt and others. I exclusively got the chance to work on material from the forthcoming 2Cellos album “Celloverse”. On this album there are many rock, pop and metal covers played on cellos in a unique style. So I actually picked 2 songs from that album, recent Avicii hit “Wake Me Up” and Iron Maiden’s 80s classic “The Trooper” and mixed them with the original vocals of “The Trooper” plus the original “Wake Me Up” vocals by Aloe Blacc. And as a little bonus I also added some Metallica. For now there’s just a Soundcloud stream but there is also a video in the making which should be ready later this week. The download will be enabled when the video is up!
